Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient, natural and totally beneficial holistic treatment benefiting everyone from babies to the elderly. The reflexologist uses her thumb and fingers to detect sensitivities (reflexes) in the feet which correspond somatically to all the organs, glands and parts of the body. A good practitioner will look at all aspects of a client’s health history and lifestyle in order to maximise energy flow and ensure improvement in the health and balance of the body in general.

Fed up with over the counter Acne products that don’t work? Lost faith with prescribed medications that may only help the condition initially? Reflexology through its holistic nature will tackle the internal issues which may be causing the misery of acne. Hormonal imbalance, kidney and liver underperformance and skin unable secrete efficiently are all symptoms of the internal body systems being under stress. Reflexology will calm the sympathetic nerves and stimulate the endocrine system (that which regulates the secretion of hormones) thus rebalancing the body. |
Acne sufferers have to contend with not only the external manifestation of acne but also with the distress, mood swings and despair that the condition will never disappear. Reflexology is so effective at working on all levels: physical, mental and emotional. A Reflexology treatment will bring about a state of deep relaxation, thus reducing the stress in the mind and the body which is evident in so many acne sufferers.
How can reflexology help?
- Secretion is a very important function of the skin. Reflexology will stimulate sebum which acts as a natural lubricant and protects the skin with its antibacterial and antiseptic properties.
- Reflexology strives to balance the body systems and will help the skin to maintain a neutral pH level.
- The bowels, liver and kidneys will be stimulated to function efficiently and excrete toxins.
- Stress and anxiety brought under control.
- The one to one relationship between client and therapist cannot be underestimated as the relationship explores all those areas such as diet and lifestyle which can cause the skin to erupt.
