Acne Care – Ear Acne

Acne developing in around the ear, can be very awkward to treat. Often, the acne lesions cannot be seen, especially if they are in and around the trachus. Then, small raised lumps can only be felt. The best way of dealing with this, is to always keep the ears as clean as possible, especially behind the ears. Wash hair often, as hair can harbour bacteria, accessible to the ears. Always clean ipods and earphones after use, with an alcohol wipe, or wash with mild soap and water. Earplugs should only be used once and discarded, as these can carry a lot of bacteria.

If a topical treatment is needed, then be very gentle. Apply the topical using a cotton swab, but be very careful, that it does not go into the ear canal. Never pop the acne lesions and see a Dermatologist, if they become painful.
